Hair Loss Questions : Usage

I would like to ask what the effectiveness of the shampoo alone is? At some point I will be using the Scalp Therapy but at present just using the shampoo every day.
- By Lee

Dear Lee

The main component of this system is the Revivogen scalp therapy. The scalp therapy takes care of 95% of the problem and the shampoo and conditioner takes care of 5% of the problem. The shampoo will help reduce DHT from the top of the scalp and keep it clean but it will not help stop the reduction of DHT in the scalp. The scalp therapy stimulates the hair follicle for regrowth.

Can you use your product on shaved hair that is very short? Myhair is so thin now I shave it short so it is less noticeable.
- By S.

Dear S.

Yes. You can use Revivogen on shaved head and in fact it would absorb much better with shorter hair.

Dr. Khadavi

I am using Revivogen over my entire at-risk scalp, partly to treat some mild thinning at the vertex and temples, and partly as a preventative measure for the rest of my head. My question relates to applying Revivogen to this relatively-large area: The instructions say to apply the product in lines going from front to back. About how much space can I leave between those lines to be sure that Revivogen diffuses over the scalp between them? Does any particular scalp condition (wet, dry, oily, etc) promote better diffusion?
- By Chris

Dear Chris

Revivogen Scalp Therapy should be applied in lines approximately 1 cm apart. One milliliter should cover your whole scalp. If necessary you may use up to two milliliters and still have a three month supply.

Dr. Khadavi

I suffer from Diffuse Thinning around the top of my scalp.I have been applying Revivogen by parting my hair in 1cm spacing. But I am worried that I am not using enough Revivogen to make an effect. I am using 2ml of Revivogen in one application. Are you sure that this is enough? Any help would be very helpful!
- By Sam

Dear Sam

Use of 2 ml of Revivogen Scalp Therapy is more than enough to cover most of the scalp. The scalp dose not need to be soaking wet after application, but most of the scalp should be moist after short term massage of 10 seconds.

If I gain hair with Revivogen, will I lose my new hair if I quit using Revivogen?
- By Jorge M.

Dear Jorge M.

Once you have obtained the desired results from daily use, then you can taper off use to every other day. However, you must continue to use Revivogen. This is due to the fact that your scalp will continues to produce DHT without Revivogen resulting in hair loss.

Dr. Khadavi

While I'm using Revivogen, do I still wash my hair with regular shampoo when I shower, and just use the Revivogen shampoo and conditioner in the morning after applying the scalp therapy before I get in bed. I am only 19 years old, but hair loss seems to be hereditary in my family, so I went ahead and ordered it hoping that it would fill in and thicken the front of my scalp because it is thinning around that area. Will Revivogen help that?
- By Marion C.

Dear Marion C.

Revivogen will works for hereditary hair loss and should work for your condition with forehead thinning of your hair. For best results, replace all your shampoos and conditioners with Revivogen since the Revivogen treatment gently cleanses the scalp from DHT.

Dr. Khadavi

I understand the Revivogen Scalp Therapy must be done every day, therefore I'm assuming it is safe to wash & condition hair each day as well? I've been losing a fairly large amount of hair after being diagnosed with Telogen Effluvium (due to a major surgery I had in Dec 06) and have been refraining from washing it daily, as I thought the washing could only be making me lose more hair. I guess my question is...will the hair loss increase if I use the Revivogen shampoo and conditioner daily?? And does the scalp therapy need to be washed out of the hair the same day?
- By Lynn

Dear Lynn

It is safe to wash your hair everyday. Washing your hair everyday is recommended for anyone and if not every day at least every other day. This will not make your hair loss increase - in fact it will do the opposite. It will decrease your hair loss. Our shampoo works in conjunction with the scalp therapy. The Scalp Therapy should be left on at least 3 hours so that it can absorb. The scalp therapy doesnt have to be washed out each day.

I've been using your product for more than a month now and i think I am noticing some small hairs coming out in my forehead. So I am wondering if it is OK for the Revivogen formula to run down on your forehead will it get hairs on my forehead?
- By Don

Dear Don

It is s great that you are noticing positive results so soon. The formula can run down into your forehead without any problems. Its best if you prevent it by smearing the run down into your scalp. You will not grow or loose any hairs on your forehead as a result.

Dr. Khadavi

Could you use a sprayer instead of the dropper for the scalp therapy?
- By Denise

Dear Denise

You can but the dropper is more effective than the sprayer as it gets more of the formula directly on the scalp rather than on the hair as it happens with the sprayers. This is specially true if you have long and or dense hair and why we don't include a sprayer in our products.

I am 20 years old and I have had thin hair since I can remember. But now my hair is getting even thinner over the past two years. I want to use your product but I am concerned with the shedding that might occur within the first few weeks. Will this make my hair look even thinner?
- By Kevin

Dear Kevin

Within the first 2-4 weeks you will experience some shedding by using Revivogen but that is to get rid of the hairs that are in the resting phase and put them into the growth phase. Revivogen will then make your hair fuller and healthier. It will make your hair look like it did up to 3 years ago.

Dr. Khadavi

I am a female in late 30s and started using Revivogen two weeks ago. Within a few days of use I noticed my shed increcased. Is it normal to have an initial higher level of shedding, e.g. is this an indication that Revivogen is working?
- By Sammy

Dear Sammy

Some people notice an initial shed with Revivogen use. This may last 2-10 weeks and represents a positive response in that the hairs in the Telogen stage become replaced by hairs in to Anagen stage. Over time your shedding should decrease with growth of thicker, fuller hairs.

Dr. Khadavi

Would it be harmful if I applied emu oil on my scalp after applying Revivogen? Would it help at all?
- By Garrett

Dear Garrett

Do not apply any topical on top of Revivogen Sclap Therapy for at least 3 hours.

Dr. Khadavi

Will swimming in a treated pool increase or speed up hair loss? Will if prevent Revivogen from being as effective as it should be? Are there any other reasons related to hair loss that one should not swim in a pool?
- By Richard

Dear Richard

Generally swimming pools with the correct pH balance and appropriate chlorine will not increase hair loss. You should make sure to wash your hair and scalp before applying Revivogen Scap Therapy.

Dr. Khadavi

What vitamins do you recomend having while using Revivogen?
- By M.

Dear M.

Dr. Khadavi

How does your product work with prescription drugs? Are there any reactions I should know about?
- By J. Scott

Dear J. Scott

Revivogen is a topical formula so it has minimal systemic absorption and no systemic side effects. The ingredients in Revivogen are completely safe even if digested in high amounts and there have been no reports of any adverse reactions from use of Revivogen or any of its ingredients even if used orally.
